The School of Essential Ingredients

I finished reading The School of Essential Ingredients a few days ago and wow!! I absolutely loved this book! The book is set at a small restaurant, where the owner teaches a non-conventional cooking class. If my grandmother had ever written a book, it would have been just like this. She cooked day-long recipes, recipes I have adopted into my repetoire, cooking the way I love to cook. But cooking is a dying art. I should know, because I don't cook as often as I should. If I had no job, no school to worry about, no obligations outside the home, this is how I would cook. All day, gourmet. Nothing I say can even come close to matching the feelings reading this book have stirred up. This is soul food to me. Read it.
